Speedlite Flashes

A speedlite flash (on-camera flash or speedlight) is usually the first accessory that most photographers purchase after getting their cameras. It is a necessary tool to get good quality photos in low light conditions, but it can also be used to achieve more balanced exposures in daylight, trigger or control other flash light sources or to allow you to freeze the action. The reasons for being an unavoidable part of equipment are many advantages over built-in pop-up flashes

A speedlite flash for your DSLR, mirrorless or compact camera must be compatible with camera’s TTL metering for automatic exposure control. To get this you don’t have to buy a speedlite of the same brand as you camera. Alternatives include flashes from Yongnuo, Godox, Pixel, Shanny or Meike, to name the main 3rd party manufacturers. Apart from the TTL enabled speedlite flashes there are also manual models (without TTL metering) which are cross brand compatible.
