Description

Yongnuo YN968C | Wireless enabled Speedlite flash for Canon

Yongnuo YN968C is the latest release in the line of Canon compatible speedlite flashes from famous Chinese manufacturer Yongnuo. It features an original case design (rather than a Canon 600EX-RT clone) with a built in adjustable LED light located under the flash head.

Yongnuo YN968C is powerful, radio-equipped speedlite flash which features an LED video light and aims to be one of the most versatile lighting solutions on the market. The flash is designed with support for Canon’s E-TTL / E-TTL II metering as well as compatibility with Yongnuo YN622 2.4 GHz radio triggering system, while it also has optical TTL slave modes that work with both Canon and Nikon units for maximum compatibility. Also, the LED light, which features a sliding diffusion panel, can output approximately 300 lux at 3.3′, making it useful for brightening up a video.

For illuminating your subjects, the YN968C offers a high guide number of 60m at ISO 100, 105mm and can zoom from 20-105mm for covering a variety of lenses. A pull-out diffuser is available to expand coverage to wide-angle 14mm lenses. Bounce lighting is simple with -7 to +150 degrees of tilt and 360 degrees of rotation, and through TTL communication it has access to high-speed sync, 1st and 2nd curtain sync. Additionally, the flash is equipped with a PC sync port, an external power port, and a USB port for firmware updates.

Unlike Yongnuo YN968EX-RT which is compatible with Canon’s 2.4GHz RT radio triggering system, YN968C is compatible with Yongnuo YN622C triggering system which means you can use this flash together with YN622C-TX master controller, YN622C II trigger or other flashes like Yongnuo YN685C which also comes with built-in YN622C receiver

There is an LED light on the side of the flash head, providing a source of continuous lighting for video work. The output is daylight-balanced and an clip-on orange filter is included to match it with incandescent ambient lighting.

Along with radio transmission and reception for wireless triggering, the wireless TTL master and slave functionality of this flash also extends to standard optical pulse triggering, where the YN968C is compatible with both Nikon and Canon flash systems. Also, it has a recycle time of about 3 seconds and has high-speed sync, 1st and 2nd curtain synchronization settings. Also, it supports a multi flash stroboscopic mode for multiple flashes during a single exposure. It runs on 4 AA batteries and comes with a case, mini stand and diffuser cover.
